Trains coming and going, loud noises passing by at the station. We just stand there and count the wagons. One, two, three, four, five... Hands over your ears, concentrate, just count. Hands Over Ears is a silence in loudness.

Dayeon Auh, based in Leipzig, is an artist making books for adults and children. She catches small, quiet moments that people usually forget. Her work follows lost and forgotten things, giving them shape and a place to be held again, through the book as her medium. Dayeon Auh studied as a Meisterschülerin at the Berlin University of the Arts (UdK Berlin). Her debut picture book The Three-Year Tumble was named one of The 2025 New York Times/New York Public Library Best Illustrated Children's Books.
