José Quintanar (Madrid, Spain, 1984) lives and works in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. He is an artist working in drawing and books where he explores the possibilities of drawing as a game and the ways that the drawing appears as a primary method to establish processes or protocols from rudimentary rules.

Sixteen Drawings of Sixteen Lines is the attempt to create a game with the number 16 that defines the structure of the book, the content, and the limitations of each drawing. A book of 16 pages with 16 drawings of 16 lines.
